Although I am put off by the newfound arrogance shown by many Chinese, I only have to think of the jingoistic national pride many Americans exhibit to realize that we Americans deserve to be on the receiving end of that kind of irritating arrogance. It might serve to humble us and, by doing so, to make us better world citizens.
